It’s been a while since we profiled the Brushy Creek neighborhood of Austin, Texas. As with much of Austin, this northwest Austin suburb located north of the 45 Toll Road, west of I-35, east of 183 and south of Whitestone Boulevard has seen many changes in the last few years.
This suburb, located in Williamson County, is popular for its location, which is convenient to both Round Rock and Austin, its highly rated schools, and newer more spacious construction.
Children who reside in Brushy Creek attend Round Rock ISD schools. Children in Kindergarten through fifth grade go to Fern Bluff Elementary. Students in grades six through eight go to Chisholm Trail Middle School and those in ninth through twelfth grade are Round Rock High School Dragons.
Brushy Creek is within easy commuting distance of employers in Round Rock, Cedar Park, and north Austin. These include Paypal Data Services, which operates one of the world’s largest online payment systems and has their Austin offices on Parmer Lane near Anderson Mill Road, just thirteen minutes from Brushy Creek.
Lakeline Mall is just fifteen minutes from Brushy Creek and provides employment in a wide variety of stores and restaurants both in the mall and in the shopping centers that surround it.
There are a variety of cuisines available to those who reside in Brushy Creek. Bellini’s Texas Grill is on the edge of Brushy Creek and has both great Italian food and Texas comfort food. They have daily lunch and happy hour specials and delicious dessert and gelato.
Moonie’s Burger House is on the other side of 183 from Brushy Creek and serves, you guessed it, burgers! They have several gourmet burger options, or you can build your own, plus get a shake or beer to wash it down with. There’s an outdoor patio to enjoy the weather, plus a kid’s play area with arcade and tabletop games.
If you are the outdoorsy type, Brushy Creek has you covered with the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. It has almost seven miles of hiking trails for walkers, runners, bikers, and hikers. Amenities include splash pads, swimming area, climbing rocks, fishing docks, canoeing and kayaking, and several picnic and pavilion areas.
Brushy Creek is home to lots of great apartment communities.
